NEWS

Welcome to my website! This process has been fun, a little time consuming, but entirely worth it. Obviously, this is still a work in progress and those broken links will tell you as much. However, it’s also been nice to carve out a little piece of the internet to call my own. It’s even been nice to cosplay as a woman in STEM, though the Art Major in me fought it every step of the way.

Due to the nature of the content machine, I did make a video about this experience, which you can find at the top of the page. Hopefully, you’ll be able to find more videos I do with little updates like this as I continue to do YouTube and work on this website. If you don’t watch the video, I hope you find me way more charismatic and interesting as a blog post writer than a speaker.

As we drift towards the bottom of the page, I want to make note of the other homepage feature: a poll.

I couldn’t get other poll-hosting sites to work, so this is just an embedded Google one – but here I’m hoping to offer anyone who stumbles upon this site or clicks the link from one of my videos, the chance to help me prioritize what content they would like to see – or even suggest stuff! I have a lot of idea, but tend cycle through them quickly without finishing any one of ‘em, so here’s your chance to try and hold me accountable.

Last, but not least, I’ll try and hold MYSELF accountable and tell you some of the things I have planned for this website so maybe I’ll actually do them.

One: when I first came up with the idea of making a website, I thought it would be really fun to have flash-style games, like the websites I used to spend hours on as a kid. I don’t know how to make those games – yet. I’m hoping to have at least one up by the end of the year. TBD on what type of game it is and how broken it is.

Two: I’m trying to come up with a good way to archive these news updates and poll results – at the moment I’m thinking of doing static page where I replace the embedded poll with an image of the results. From there, I’ll link it on the Update Archive page. I figure this is a problem for future Morgan, but it doesn’t hurt to start thinking about it now.

Three: I want to update, at the very least, the News section, every month, with a blurb about whatever video I’ve been working on and a new poll. This is probably the least daunting task, but the most important to keep consistent.

Regardless, at least at this very moment, I’m all in on the personal web and I hope you guys are too.
